What is it going to be like, do we know yet? I first heard there will be no actual currency, and all trade will be done in direct bartering, but that idea got generally shot down as ineffective. So what's it gonna be, dollars? I also heard someone mention something exotic like bullets, but that's just plain weird…

I doubt that the USD would hold up its own past the apocalypse, but hey, stranger things have happened… But seriously, whenever someone mentioned currency, they used the word "chips". Not dollars, and certainly not bullets.
BTW, bullets as trading currency is a horrible idea, ammunition in general should be rare and highly valued, not traded around cheaply.
