ANyone offering an FTN invite or account for trade is up to no good in 1 fashion or another.

FTN forums contain a large collection of friendly, nice and helpful people. People help others gain access to various places as well as help each other resolve mundane issues.

No elite talk,no stupidity. Just normal, nice people.

With that said, I would have to say that trading an FTN invite makes little to no sense as you can get access, via the friendly community, to just about any other tracker.\

Since most people possess sense, I would therefore have to assume that any FTN invite or account offer would be a scam or an attempt at bait and switch theft.

Now,with that in mind as well, if you are a new member here , say, the last 6 months and fewer than 100 posts and you offer an account or invite....well.. I protect my community and I will be locking any such threads and suspending the user for 30-90 days.

Even if I disregard my personal views on this, the fact that of the last 19 topics, offering FTN invites/accounts, 18 were blatant scams and 1 was vague, and vanished, gives me enough of a statistical base to warrant this decision.

You may feel free to weight in on this new torrent policy, I am always open to feedback, but be sure it is constructive, intelligent and on point.

This is simply to protect those of you whom are gullible and susceptible to fast talk and a screen shot.

I am tired of getting PM spam over someone stealing from them Smile

How is it that you can verfy someone is or isn't a member at certain trackers before they've scammed anybody, and when you don't know their username there?

ftn is retarded, shit community, no old seeded torrents and low peering = it sucks, stop wasting your time, i even like TL (which is also a retarded tracker) more than ftn now.

I take It from your comments you are a member of FTN, and If you feel that way about them you could always PM one of the staffers and ask them to disable your account.
FTN wouldn't mis you.
As for TL like FTN those who are member know their quality can appreciate that, and the variety of torrents that the members upload.

But saying that reading your comments again they sound like a nob, and I really doubt you are a member of both.

it's clear that you have no idea of what you are talking about, so don't tell me what to do with my accounts, you are just some other random trader that would love to get invited there

This not a bash thread.
Personal views on my decision are welcome, love or hate of anything is moot.

Yes I think that anyone who is not a trusted member in these forums should not be allowed to trade FTN invites.

Everyone that claims to have one has like one post, and just joined the forum to most likely scam someone out of their Sct, TT or whatever else.

Who here has actually traded successfully for a FTN invite? Please raise your hand. I tried my luck this Christmas and I will never do the same mistake twice.

It's still a free country but I think your suggestion is in the best interest of the forum and its members.

That's my 2 cents

I dont really agree to this statement, because FTN is one of the hardest trackers to get on. It was a pretty small user base and rarely gives out invites.

You misread evidently. That sentence was directed to people who "claim" to have FTN invites for trade.

Compared to say, TL, FTN has a small base. 6000 users max, but only 4500 members right now.

FTN is not hard to get into for a normal, intelligent person with people skills. For someone whom acts like a trader, has left posts all over the web showing he is a trader/collector, yes, it will be near impossible Smile

I got Invited to FTN for free a long time ago, so I know how ggod thet are.
As for having no idea of what I'm talking about, I'm not the one calling FTN a shit site you are.

Your words I think, So who Is the retard.

As for putting a high value's to tracker Invites that's something I don't agree with, I consider they should be for free.

I know CG can see member's ip's on here since he's in charge, but if the ip is the way he finds out about someone being on a particular tracker, that really bothers me, because that implies that he's consulting with admins on those trackers, and they're verifying whether or not someone who makes claims is a member. Trackers shouldn't be sharing that info with anyone. Every tracker I'm on does not allow users to see other user's ip on their profile page.

BTW, I know it's beneficial in finding out who's a scammer, that's a good thing, and something I'm not complaining about at all.

If the IP was the way he found out who is where than no one here would have any trackers left to trade...

Mighty long list of methods. Not 100% foolproof. If someone is proven to have baited and switched, or out right scammed/stolen an item tangible or otherwise, from another member of the site, he foregos his rights to the privacy policy.

Means if you scam, I collaborate. Plain and simple.
I do not overstep my boundries, I do not break our rules. I do, once the ball is in play,go to the Nth to protect the members here.

This is a Bittorrent trading section of our forums. Agree or disagree, per trading, I still follow our rules and enforce them as well as our policies. The only people who should have a pause or concern are those whom do intent on stealing. Once they do,then they need to worry.

I hope that clarifies as well as gives comfort....or fear to those of malicious intent

Okay. I, for one, am satisfied with that answer, and with how you handle things here. Judging by the number of banned users I come across, it seems to be effective.
This is analogous to the way the US Govt. implemented homeland security measures that circumvented some of our rights to privacy in order to be more effective at preventing terrorism. At least, it seems similar to me. I can live with that. While I'm not a fan of the "if you have nothing to hide, then what are you afaid of" mentality, in this case, I'd have to agree.
My only concern would be how readily admins at other trackers are willing to forego their own privacy policy in order to collaborate with others, solely on the basis of a hunch.

Thanks CG.
