xi looks good to me, class and combat systems own atleast... I think its the best EQ clone so far.

I got to play in the Japanese beta. If you believe that this is an EQ clone...you're in for a huge letdown. The combat system isn't nearly as entertaining as it is in most mmorpgs, and you're better off with a controller instead of the keyboard/mouse combo. I didn't like it, and I really loved final fantasy.

how could the combat system be any worse than current mmos, what is it completely controlled by AI so we dont even need to target stuff anymore just log on and leave it alone? cause auto attack and castin the same spells over and over wasnt really entertaining.
Gotta remember since the jap beta this game has been out a year and has 1 expansion already, comparing what you played to whats comin out is kinda like comparing EQ classic to EQ post kunark, so much shit changes, also as far as keyboards vs controllers, i would agree with you cause it sucked in beta but in the last patch like yesterday we can finally remap keyboard keys and it made it infinitly better.
BTW what didnt you like about combat i kinda liked the menu thing personally.

I really disliked how they tried to make it more turn-based with the menu system. It made me feel rushed to make certain decisions (hello red mage?). I didn't like how the mob aggro system worked at all, freakin 69 thousand yards away some bfa mob and his army comes at you. And I played through the beta, so I do kinda know how it's going. Didn't mean to say I only played in said beta.

Ya, i kinda liked the turn based style, I guess its something you either like or hate tho.. mob agro is interesting but I could see where people wouldnt like it.. its definitly a far cry from EQ and letting you get right up near somethin before it agros.

well, if you do, try to get on the Bahamut server
I don't know exactly how the server selection is going to work, from what I'm told you can't pick which server you get on. So I plan on recreating my char until I'm on Bahamut, because let's face it: he's the baddest summon ever.

According to the website: once somebody gets on that server, they can pass out a world key to everyone else. Hook me up!

You can't recreate to get a different server, they patched to stop that :/
