At this time in my EQ life nothing really can get me going anymore.
Granted killing a mob I never helped kill before is fun and new zones are nice to see and explore it's not like the old days.
Anyone have any good stories about back in the day? Now you don't have to be old school to have a back in the day story. Back in the day can be 4 years to some and 4 months to others.
One of my stories was back right after the release of kunark. I forgot who it was but it was a high level pally that led a open invite raid to chardok.
You had to be 40+ and nobody had been down there yet. I just made it in with my 40 cleric Clara Proudmoore. I admit back then chardok was scary hell the run there was scary.
The raid started out well enough it felt like we were moving fast but really we barely made it anywhere. We had some people fall of the first bridge there and some people got lost.
We were about half way down and they realized that pets was causing some funky agro. We told everyone to kill the pet’s and the bard song as well just to be sure.
We sure enough someone was afk and they still had their pet. They ended up agro’ing about 20 mobs. The shout for clerics to camp was made but it’s was crazy. In the end only I made it out.
I logged onto my alt and was given to go ahead to log back in, They told me to res another cleric and tank and a chanter. Just as I was doing the chanter someone else, (A non-cleric) popped back in.
The problem is he was right next to a mob and agro’ed and then trained the res camp killing us all. I was so close to saving us but in the end it was a 2 hours corpse retrieval.
But all in all it was still a fun night and one of those times I felt a bit scared playing EQ.

So was TS's first Vindi attempts, which I was fortunate enough to be apart of. 80+ were no match for Derakor's wrath.

Best single EQ experience I had was when I went with like 12-14 Amber Knights to do the first or 2nd attempt at fire giants in solusek b. yeah it was the second the first one ended up in a wipe. It was me, Ulthane, Kindom, Auar, Krylin, malik(i think), and some other I can't remember. We make it past stone spider (which was a 2 group thing still, if even) and get o fire giants. Krylin, the original inventer of FD pulling on this server starts pulling fire giants, I can't figure out how the f**k he is getting single pulls, I see his health go down from time to time but then stop. I thought he was probably exploiting pathing in the lava. Turns out he was FD pulling. Anyways each fire giant would prett much take every caster to OOm and we are maybe like 4-5 mins ahead of spawns. They wanted to go for Skarlon. I remember reading hours before on FoH boards about how they had just killed him and I drooled over the loot. So Krylin pulls Skarlon and we all go at it. The fight is going so-so at the beginning, we are somewhat too level and completely ungeared for this. His HP starts getting low but so is everyones, people start dying. Finally we kill him and it's like Ulthane, Kindom, and me in 1 group, and Auar is the only one left in 2nd. Giant repops on us and Kindom starts casting evac. Now i knew Ulthane was always the one who looted all mobs, but I also knew that the sword was NO DROP and that the mithril arm's weren't. So I had to make a judgement call over looting when I wasn't supposed too becuase I knew if he looted the sword it would be pure crap. I decided it was worth it becuase worst case i just hand him the arms. I powerloot him and he has the sword, I click to loot it and as it appears in my cursor the NOW LOADING comes up, I seriously looted it like 1 second before evac went off. I remember my hands were freakin shaking I was so into that moment. My brother was watching me and was like "HOLY SHIT YOU GOT SKARLON SWORD?" I remember Auar was kind of mad but agreed that it was a good call with peple dying and gate. I had the best weapon on the server for a while and it pure pimpedness. I remember struting into SolB witht hat ing and getting like 5 million inspects, it was freaking sweet.
