Looks like Norrath is getting an upgrade. We just got word that Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) implemented Game Update 35 yesterday, adding a new character, city, and overland zone to the already large landmass of Norrath!
According to their update, players with the Echoes of Faydwer expansion can create a member of the Arasai race. These Arasai are the mischievous, evil counterparts of the Fae race so while the Fae are also shiny rainbows, these guys have goth colors written all over them.
In addition to the Arasai update, all players can now enjoy two new areas. First up is the recently uncovered city of Neriak, also known as the City of Hate. As you can probably guess, it's going to be one of the main starting areas for the Arasai, but you can also visit the city regardless of your race. More importantly, a new zone has also been put up, called the Darklight Wood. This forest is perfect for new starting characters, so expect newbies to the game as well as newly made Arasai to congregate there.
Rest of the game additions:
* A new LFG (Looking For Group) system is available. Find friends, slaughter foes!
* House moves just became less of a chore with the addition of a new moving service!
* PvP players can no longer use zoning to escape combat!
* An additional character slot for all players & two character slots for Station Access subscribers!
