I had the similar problems when I was starting to play Everquest 2 for the first time. It is always so hard to choose one race, and then to play with it. I had big problems with that, but I was successful. As you, I have asked for help, but I got very little advice. Assassin and zerker characters are indeed great ones, but it is very hard to pick one race out. It must be your personal choice. We cannot tell you which one to choose. You must know every race in the game, and then to find as much as you can about them. After that, you will be able to pick one race out.
