Not sure of it's legitimacy, but it's still funny as shit. f*****g anglefire sucks, just visit the pic links seperately if necessary.

Pitt junior Brandon Smith wanted a tattoo that proclaimed his manliness, so he decided to get the Chinese characters for "strength'' and ''honor'' on his chest. After 20 minutes under the needle of local tattoo artist Andy Sakai, he emerged with the symbol for ''small penis'' embedded in his flesh.

Above: Symbols on the back of a Pitt student inked by Sakai (inset) were originally meant to say ''princess.'' They really say ''p********e.''

''I had it for months before I knew what it really meant,'' Smith said.
''Then I went jogging through the Carnegie Mellon campus and a group of Asian kids started laughing and calling me ''Shorty.'' That?s when I knew something was up.''
Sakai, an award-winning tattoo artist, was tired of seeing sacred Japanese words, symbols of his heritage, inked on random white people. So he used their blissful ignorance to make an everlasting statement. Any time acustomer came to Sakai?s home studio wanting Japanese tattooed on them, he modified it into a profane word or phrase.
''All these preppy sorority girls and suburban rich boys think they're so cool 'cause they have a tattoo with Japanese characters. But it doesn't mean shit to them!'' Sakai said. ''The dumbasses don't even realize that I?ve written ''s**t'' or ''pervert'' on their skin!''
In the last month, seven people unknowingly received explicit tattoos from the disgruntled artist. Kerri Baker, a Carlow College freshman, paid $50 to have the symbols for ''beautiful goddess'' etched above her belly button, but when she went into Szechuan Express Asian Noodle Shop sporting a bare midriff, the giggling employees explained to her that the tattoo really said, ''Insert General Tso's Chicken Here!''
     ''I don?t even like General Tso's!'' Baker sobbed. ''I'm a vegetarian!''
Sakai doesn't feel guilty about using hapless college students as canvases for his graffiti.
''I think I'm helping my fellow man by labeling all the stupid people in the world,'' he explained. ''It's not a crime, it's a public service.''

at a street fair in NC, someone was selling t-shirts with (don't remember what lang) characters but a couple of days later
there was a story about it in the paper, as they said stuff like bathroom etc.

the person selling them, just picked characters that looked cool , and didn't know what they meant

Well I decided to search and see if any of the story was true... so I did a Google search for the artists name. No news site came up, but something did about him... took me to a sight that is pretty damn humorous.

Bogus, and this is slowly turning into a new urban legend. It's not from a credible source, and the quotes/facts are highly dubious. How do you mistake "beautiful goddess" for "insert general tsao's chicken here"? that's a ton more verbage. Also, do you find it more than coincidence that the chicken reference was discovered at an asian fast food establishment? Finally, they received a quote from this girl, where she's sobbing because she's a vegetarian? Please.

If this were true, it would have made national news, and there would be a massive class action lawsuit involved. For sure, you'd hear about it in places other than on an angelfire page.

Actually, the point to the story is it's f*****g funny. Who gives a shit if it's real or not, it's something I'd love to see on the real news if it's fake. I know you can get some shirts that say odd stuff like that from some anime stores, so why not tattoos? Wink

All in all, he-larr-e-ous!

You have a point, my aunt lived in Tokyo for two years and there's apparently a sub section of town that is referred to as *freak-town* with a lot of Urban Primitives and generally odd folks. She went down there out of a sense of overly typical American Tourist Curiosity and was completely amused be the stuf she would see kids wearing. Unfortunately she didn't get pictures (she didn't feel safe enough to ask young p****d off japanese kids to stop and pose for a picture) but some of them she said made absolutely no sense at all.

I don't think there's too much wrong with someone admiring another culture, or studying it to a near obsessive point. The kanjii scipt is attractive and holds a mystical quality for a lot of americans. I about got one 6 years ago before I moved to california, but decided against it (glad I did after seeing the massive trend). I've always been fascinated with the writing styles of other cultures, especially ones with 400+ characters.

Friend of mine has pariah in greek on the back of his neck, another has something in phoenecian. Whatever floats your boat and makes you feel pretty right?

Though I do think it's alright to get one of these.... this is funny as SHIT and that's what these f*****g stooges get for not taking the time to research and find their own meanings, and yes sir... it is quite possible for something said in kanjii in three characters, it's also possible to have one word in kanjii take several.
