Dateline Washington DC The Democratic National Committee announced today that the Democratic Party is changing its emblem from an donkey to a condom.
The committee chairman explained, the condom more clearly reflects the party's stance today because a condom accepts inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of p****s, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually getting screwed.

You do realize that the definition of an assault weapon included more than just having a pistol grip?
You also realize that George Bush has repeatedly says he favors the ban?
When asked why he hadn't worked harder (hell, worked at all) to pass an extension of the ban he says he favors, George Bush said there was no chance of getting it through Congress, so he didn't try. His own party controls both houses of Congress, but he didn't think he could get it passed, so he... just... didn't... try.

If you try to pass a bill like that in an election year, you lose votes in the "Shoot-up your schools" states like Montana, Colorado and Oregon.
