I think Eve Online is not for noobs because of the death penalties. I just started to play this great game, and I need to know what would happen if I die. One way or another, I cannot find that information on the internet. I am not the passionate player, like many others so I do not know everything about computer or gaming. I can only hope that someone of you will help me with this.

I am also playing Eve Online, but the thing is that so far I did not die. It seems that I can play this game, and I never came across any death penalty. I have heard that there are several penalties, but none of them is very hard. If you lose your life in the game, your character will lose certain amount of experience points. There are several more, but I just cannot recall what they are. I think that the game is not harsh regarding the death, so you can play the game with as smallest amount of worries as possible.

If your careful, there are no real death penalties in EVE. If your prepared to be "podded" than the only thing your likely to lose is the current ship your flying, its equipment, cargo (if any) and possibly brain implants. (oh, then theres the pride thing too)

By no penalty, I not referring to free. (I lost 600M ISK in stuff once). Try not to carry expensive cargo around unless your in secure space to minimize risk.

By prepared I'm referring to your clone. you never really die in EVE your just reborn in a new clones body. The thing to watch out for is that you keep upgrading the grade of clone that is capable of retaining at least as much skill points as you currently had when killed.

Also, when you visit a station that has a medical facility you can set your clone up so that (in the untimely event of your demise) you will be reborn (emerge from the clone vat) in that station.

As I recall you always get a new "rookie ship" when podded to avoid the "trapped without a ship" paradox
