So I hear Guild Wars is offering just four character slots with your basic account, and it charges you something lke 10 bucks for each additional slot after the fourth, is that right? Does this strike anyone else as a little, I don't know, immoral? Unethical? Greedy? Compared to other MMOs out there?

Well no, not really, at least not "compared to other MMOs out there". You see, GW is one of the few commercial RPG MMO games available that doesn’t operate on the basis of monthly subscription. With GW, you just buy the game discs, and you've got an account, permanently. So if they want to squeeze out a few extra $$$ out of that deal, I say go right ahead.
