I have a question about shield skills. It seems to me that training them doesn’t have much sense since the shields get down really easily, particularly when you’re fighting Minmatar or Amar. Would shields in any way benefit an armor tank ship? Any input on this would be highly appreciated!

I’ve been thinking about that too and here’s what I’d come up with: Shield management will give your shield more HP and you’ll have more time to repair the armor. Shield operation should give you more HP on time. Tactical shield manipulation will you’re your armor harder to reach. So, I don’t think training these skills is useless.
