I kind of like the story of EVE but I’m not really into playing with bunch of people I don’t know since I think some of them can get really annoying. That’s why I was wondering if there is a possibility of making a private EVE server? Is there such a thing already? Does anyone here have any info on this?

I think that you’re missing the whole point of EVE and such games. The point is that it should be massive – that’s what these games are made for and you’re spoiling the fun by playing on a private server. I’m not sure if this is allowed but I’ve never heard of private EVE servers before.

there's no EVE private servers. There's only 1 HUGE cluster (~60 computers) I think. It's just unreal to setup EVE server on 3 GHZ Pentium or something like that

wow i have never even played eve yet and i can tell you it is perfectly leagal to have a private server they actually should not charge you for anything more than the bandwidth you are using. and yes there is atleast one private server i know of but you have to be a paid member on there site which if you are you get more then just access to there private server you get acces to multiple private servers for various games and cheats and mods its only 25 dollars for a year but i dont feel like paying im just wanting to find a free server so that i can actually play the game for a little bit to decide if i want to play

Also, the universe is so large that, if you have one private server, you won't bump into anyone in 0.0 space which makes it boring with no one to pvp or trade in that manner.

We can only hope. Yet I don't see this ever happening. Starting a new server from the beginning is completely against what they are trying to accomplish.

I think eve is the only MMO where no private server can be really fun, unless you can gather 50k+ players... And have enough servers to survive this :p

acctualy there isnt a "sever" but there is a project....to create a server, but the systems are going to be smaller, they revered engineered the game already but just have many bugs to clean, ill look for it and post the site back up here.
