So, if I understand this correctly, pirating and anti-pirating is the only way to do PvP in Eve Online these days? You just gank people if you want to fight them, or wait until someone puts out a bounty, and there's no officially sanctioned venue for PvP combat, like an arena or something?

No, nothing like an arena, but pirating and bounty-hunting is as "official" as anything gets in EVE. There's nothing that prevents you from acting that way, you won't be banned for it, etc. It's a free universe.

you get a ship and go to 0.0 and wait till you see a othership and blow it up... or you go out to 0.4 till 0.1 and kill a ship that you see and become a pirate...
its that simple bounty hunting is hard.. and takes loads off time.

Heck no, their are alliances in 0.0 (lawless space) that control their territory and fight to protect or even to expand their reach! EVE Online has all sorts of paths to take if you wish to PVP.

I agree with Skigre. There are tons of PvP options. Corp wars are fought in all sectors. You wil often see 2 groups going at it in high sec space. If your looking for PvP eve's got you covered.
