I’m new to EVE and I still don’t know a lot about it. I haven’t played it yet, but I’ve been reading a lot about it. Anyway, I want to start playing but ther is one thing that I don’t understand. Do I have to download all the patches that they make or can I play the game without those patches?

You don’t have to download the patches manually – the game should be doing it automatically. But you do need them and cannot play the game without them. Sometimes the game doesn’t download the patch automatically and you have to download it yourself from their official webpage. I hope this answers your question.
