I was reading about EVE a lot lately and have finally decided to start playing it. But I would like to find out more about playing the game itself before I get into it. Since it seems that mining is really important I was wondering if there is a place for me to find more info on this subject. Thanks a lot in advance!

I think that there is a special section on Wikipedia that’s all about mining in EVE. Mining is very important but it’s not the only way to earn money so you may avoid getting into it too much by being a good bounty hunter for example. www.eve-online.com is also a good resource of all things EVE.
