I'm about to buy a frieghter ship - charon to be exact but before I do that I need some more info on it. Can they use jump gates? Do I have to buy fuel for them? Any other info you might provide me with on freighters would be highly appreciated.

Since freigheter is not a capital ship even though it requires capital components when you're building it and it does not require fuel and it uses the normal jump gates. One of the downsides is that you cannot use freighters to access wrecks or containers in space. I hope that this was of some use to you.
