Hmm I think that Eve Online client size should not be more than megabytes. However, i was stonished to find out that my Eve Online folder weighs 18 GB!!!! And I was yet wondering what happened to free space. How do I know what i can remove from Eve folder?? Thanks!!

According to Eve online official system requirements, the size of the client shouldn’t be more than 6gb. Now I think that maybe you have turned on video recording of game or something? Maybe your previous patches etc is olso there. but yet it seems too much... I really don’t know how to help you...

My eve file size is about 3 GB
My friends EVE file size is also about 3 GB

Installing eve with all the patches/upgrades and the premium graphics only takes 3 GB at maximum. I would really want to know how you made your eve file into18 GBs.

The only thing that can add to your game file is: chat logs, market logs, pvp logs, character portrets and some other log files. All these files are usually text files and only take very small fractions of space. Having 15 GB of those files in your eve directory would not only lag your game but it would also lag your computer so badly that every time you start the system or run virus scan, the system would freeze for at least 15 minutes.

getting a dodgy hdd doesn't mean that eve will take up 18 gigs.

Maybe you've got a virus duplicating files on your harddrive cause the average disc space required is only 3 gigs.

I just finished downloading the new premium version of the client (the one with the improved ship/station graphics) and it was only 1.21GB for the installer (granted once it is unpacked and patched, im sure it will get up to about 3GB) I can't imagine 18GB, thats crazy...

On a side note, my Age of Conan installation was nearly 30gb =o Glad I quit that pile... lol.
