One of the most important things when you begin to play a game, and the place where most people make their first mistakes is a character creation (char creation screen). So, my point is – give us some good char creation tutorial here – I am sure that many would highly appreciate this like myself.

A very brief and good tutorial can be found at the official website’s forum http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=102002. It is not difficult to make a good setup and a good balance right from the beginning, if everything is done according to the tutorial. Of course, you can always experiment yourself to see if you get better results.

When creating a character try to balance your attributes as much as possible. Allways train for 1 race and 1 race only this way you will be up and running in no time.
People tend to train all sort off new cool stuff but in that way you will be never really effective in combat.
So train all minmatar ship cruiser assault ship battlecruiser and the guns.
If you stick to this rule in the end you can kill people that are playing 3 years.
