He's not european, he's british first of all.
Brits are braindead, even the rest of europe knows this.
They're like another part of the US really, jumping when america says so.

Yeah, your not brainwashed at all
On a serious note, how many of you that "bash" europe have actually been there and met more than 1 person?
This is not meant as a snipe, just curious if anyone is speaking out of experience or just hearsay (and the media is notoriously good at making shit up, in europe AND in the US)
And yes, before someone comes back with a "have you been to the US?"
I have, about 20 times now for a total of 1.5 years i guess added time. And i have many friends and family in the US so i know what i'm saying when i talk about "Americans"

Scrotum, if it wasn't for our military you would be speaking German, Russian, French, Japenese, or any one of 1000 other languages right now. And whats more primitive? The desire for peace but realising that going about it through diplomacy alone is just inviting betrayal by a country (US with N. Korea lately for example), or having the understanding that to stand up to Warlords, Dictators, etc... that will attempt to manipulate your desire for peace you have to have a powerful military? You're to ignorant of how the world around you works. I suppose its always possible though that the reason you don't understand this stuff is because your country is so insignificant/undesireable that unless someone wants all of Europe they won't even think about you.
As far as the Muslim thing goes, I would find it amusing to say the least that if the French culture got assimilated into it. Maybe with some luck it would give us an excuse the rest of the world would agree with to turn their country into the parkling lot for the giant Walmart were going to build over Iraq and the Mcdonalds that will end up on top of Syria.

There we have it again. I know history, and noone says im ungrateful. the problem is, you f***s bring that up ALL the time. if you look back just a little bit farther, you will see that all of you americans come from europe. all of you have european blood in you. america was made of europeans, 100% so if it wasnt for us, you wouldnt even f*****g be there.(sounds ridiculous, no? its the same thing, you went back 50 years, i went back 200.)
let's think in the now please.
and the moment you americans here stop talking about how big your army is, or how many times the U.S has saved this and that, i "may" start to look upon you normally. military numbers do not impress anyone.

I was referring to the current situation with you as well as historically. If the US wasn't around the UN's defense forces would be extremly weak compared to how they are now not to mention our non UN troops. If a worthless European country got invaded the US would end up saving your ass, the more agressive countries realise it and won't make a move on someone we would be willing to defend because they would get a severe beating while we save you (although why anyone would want anything in Europe remains a mystery to me). What does a place like Norway or France contribute positively to the world?

You should be sucking my d**k actually. After all it is my tax dollars that pays for the military umbrella your little zit of a country hides under. Next time you spout some shit about all the lame socialist programs you spend so much on, you need to remember where that cash isn't going. Namely to pay for your own defense.
Socialist scumbag that you are.

It was one of those things where you forget why you disliked someone after a while and then upon seeing them think, "ooooohhhhhh...yeah." Anyway, he made me realize the arrogance of Europeans. He just came back from spending 2 months in Europe. Here's a synopsis of his arrogance.
-He claimed that America is in shambles because nobody can find work (he's been out of a job for months). Rather than be confrontational, I said "Well, unemployment is down to 6% from 6.4%. I'm sure it'll get better." He exclaimed that's not the case and that America is hemorrhaging several hundred thousand jobs a month and that I was wrong. OK. I held back from pointing out the fact that he's overweight, dissheveled, poorly dressed and obnoxious and maybe that's the reason he can't find a job.
-His food wasn't good enough, even though I bought him dinner. He complained about how his ribs would be so much better if they were baby back. Then he proceeded to tell me how he lost 20 pounds in Britain eating pastries stuffed with heavy cream and that in America you just get fatter. OK. Now just the fact that I bought him dinner should keep him from complaining, but I guess Europeans are just ungrateful as a people.
-On one of the televisions, CNN was showing the Michael Jackson nonsense. He yells at the top of his lungs, "Jesus Christ this is ridiculous!" Keep in mind we're in the Bible belt and there are people sitting all around us, so it's completely disrespectful. He didn't stop there. He said, "This isn't real news! That's why if I want REAL news I have to read a newspaper from a different country!" This was just ridiculous because Britain is filled with sensational tabloid "journalism.' I told him to lighten up.
Granted most Europeans I meet seem pleasant, he was a good example of what's wrong with Europe. They are an arrogant group of people with a corrupt media which they blindly follow. They are arrogant enough to believe that heavy cream in America is more fattening here than there. They blame their personal problems on their government. They are brash and unsophisticated. Worst of all...they don't know it.
I'm content knowing that Europe is practically committing suicide. Their socialist, defenseless policies are weakening them to the point of oblivion. I'm also happy to know that America will be around long after Europe falls. |
WheresNWS, I hate to break it to ya...
But that guy is just an a*****e.
I'm sure you Americans have some homebred a******s as well so why make it an Euro-American thing?

They are culturally devoid, historically ignorant, unbathed, unproductive s***s. Their intentions are as bad as Afghan terrorists, only they lack the capability of pulling off a 9/11. Their declining civilization won't see the end of this century because they will self-destruct under a self-indulged orgy of intellectual malaise. Unfortauntely...America will be their to bail them out. |
WheresNWS you are one of the people who I would love to invite to Europe someday and show you a different reality than what you just wrote. You are as ignorant about Europe as most Europeans are about America.
I agree with Hunnybunny: both Europe and the US have lots of ignorant sheep who believe anything the media say. You are the one who is ignorant if you believe the divide between Europeans and Americans in general is that big. I relate more to reasonably intelligent Americans than I do with dumb Euro's who spew their version of whatever shit they think they heard on the news without even using half a braincell in the process.
WNWS, I would like you to put your prejudice aside for 1 moment...
Take me, I'm European. I get bombarded with European news/viewpoints every day. (I also actually shower every day just to clear that up! ) I'm a history major, so if anything I don't feel I'm historically ignorant (and before you go spouting off about European historians let me tell you a large portion of my bookshelf is taken up by American auteurs)
I am not anti-American. I love America, I love the music, the movies, the country (been there once would love to go back), the food. I am not against the war with Iraq. I feel it was an inevitability. The timing may not have been perfect but hey no timing ever is. I cringe when Bush opens his mouth too, just like the average American who posts here
I go to school, do my schoolwork, eat at 6, watch Friends on monday nights (Ok granted we're a little behind in the TV department ;p), I waited tables on Saturdays, see my family on sundays, play EQ, eat at MacDonalds too much, go out with my boyfriend and hang out with our friends, love going out to dinner or dancing. Worry about my future, bills, love life just as I would think most of you do. Well everyone cept Kbarr ;p
So tell me what's the real difference?
I mean, when you b***h out Europeans you could at least say "All Europeans except Celestra"
Seriously though, it's kind of sad the way people talk about "Americans" and "Europeans" on this board and elsewhere, like we're all clones. There are lots of people who can think independently in either society, regardless of the media. Regretfully Paco isn't one of them.

Strange, looks like they impress the countries that are our enemies enough to not openly f**k with us and be forced to turn to terrorists to try and do anything to us. I'm pretty sure your military on the other hand could be beaten by the canadian mafia

Why? Because I'm glad we have the best military in the world? When you're the only superpower still around you kinda need it in order to keep yourself alive. Lots of people out there go for the people at the top in just about everything. Also our country isn't going to end up being poorer than Cuba in 17 years.

I've never been to Europe but many (majority) of the europeans i've encountered here (the visiting ones) express negativity about our country and Bush. They don't just do this quietly either, they tell any and all who listen. Bush seems to be a favorite topic of bashing with them, they feel this need to harp on it.
I'm going to get a chance to visit Europe probably sometime in the next 2 yrs, but i'll be damned if i go visit a country and talk shit about it to it's people and leaders while im there. Just enjoy your visit, don't drag your opinion around like a stinky rotten dead animal.

My best friend just moved here from England roughly 6 years ago. I clique with her more than I do with anyone else in the world. However, knowing that she is not looking at this thread I must say that she definitely proves that the stereotype of the English is very accurate. In nearly every conversation I have with her she is pointing out why England is so much better than the States. Yet, she is here now and when she was there she just wanted to be here.
When she did live in England she visited here more often than not, paid for friends in the States to ship her Hidden Valley Ranch by the case and constantly asked me for updates on what was happening on Court TV. I just let her babble incoherantly about how much better England is because as she's talking I'm just making fun of her silly accent in my head.

okay, i try to make the tone of my writing as minorly insulting to people as possible, but ill try to sound more un-biased from now on if i can, its not intended, as far as the wannabe fanatic/protestor- i have no idea where you got that.. im definately not that type (i also think protesters often-not always-contradict themselves-- ie peace protests going violent.. anti abortion protests resulting in murders.. its just stupid imo).
i dont think that what i say is "profound" or necessarily important most of the time.. i also dont know where you got the idea that i act like it is. The reason you see me as rebutting most of the time is because i tend not to comment if someone has already said what i would have.. its just regurgitating the same stuff and it gets redundant sometimes- so most of the time ill just comment if no one has already said something from the same perspective as me. Saying i have no intelligent thought is somewhat harsh.. but whatever.. ill admit im a dumb blonde at times
Other than that.. I agree with Celestra- thats what i was trying to get across, except she worded it a lot better than me
