I borrowed an install disk of Everquest : Evolutions from my friend to see if I like the game but when I try to install It only goes about 1/3 the way of the progress bar then I get an error.

component transfer error

component: LuclinModels
File Group: LuclinModels
File: D:\data2.cab
Error Data Error (cycling redundancy check)

and the option to click "OK" and when I do that it goes back to the install menu.

it does it when its installing the file

C:\...\Sony\Everquest\globalogm_chr.s3d

I tried using a different cd drive, same thing. The CD should be good because it worked for my friend just a week ago.

Any ideas?

I had that issue with a PoP disk, I ended up copying that disk to the hard drive and pointed to there. Worked after I did that. Worth a try.

did the iKernel thing, didn't work. Tried copying files to my desktop but when it was copying Data2.cab I got an error (cycling redundancy check)

so I think its something wrong with that.

It was a bad cd, I took it back and got a new one and its running fine. Funny thing is that it worked for my friend.
