I have 186 engineering atm, which lets me make 2 interesting (and expensive) items: Goblin Jumper Cables (res item) and Compact Harvest Reaper Kit (lvl 35 pet)

Since those two items cost quite a lot (at least to me =p lvl 32), I wanted to ask here first before making them: Are they one-time use only?

If they are, I'm not going to waste gold on it, but if they can be used repeatedly (even with a recast timer), they'd be pretty neat.

Ohh, and if anyone knows good places to mine iron - only thing I can reliably get mining skill at the moment =/

I mine iron in 1k needles and there seems to be plenty of it. That and tin and copper so you can still get plenty of bronze.

You can use jumper cables as many times as you want until they malfunction and explode, after that you have to find more flasks of oil to make new ones, as the rest of the parts are returned upon malfunction(much like the target dummy). So far I'm a 275 skill goblin engineer and I'm not really seeing the benefits to this tradeskill = \.

That's not too bad then, thanks.

I disagree about the skill sucking though, Iron Grenades were quite useful to me. Nothing like getting a mage low health, he roots you and tries to nuke from a distance: Just pull out one of those granades and boom - 200dmg.

Highly situational I suppose, but you can buy and use anything made by other tradeskills anyway. I don't think there's a shortage of healing potions in the AH =p

Or just grind on humanoid mobs. Silver, food/drink, pots, more reliable green drops, more junk weapon loot. Find mages if you're a melee, you can tear thru their low AC. As a Paladin, I've got no downtime where I grind.

Go into Dustbelch Grotto, kill everything, mine everything, check for the chest respawn, rinse and repeat. The only things ogres are missing would be a loot drop--a la goblin expedition miners in STV.

Either that or curb your desire for the ~70s junk weapon loot and kill rock elements eventually, still a hefty sum of crap loot, just their AC isn't ideal for efficient Paladin soloing (in my case).
