Yep..... I turned to the darkside... I am now playing eq again ! 51 pally and 65 rogue.. fun, fun ...
I bet i have a lot to catch up on =/ .. I see that there is also a lvl 70 now !!! jeez...
I'm hoping to see some familar faces soon... Peace !

Agreed.
Reading this thread makes me want to play again.
Although I would only get enjoyment being twinked on a newb and xping in pre kunark/kunark zones (Some Luclin newb zones though), and I don't have the resources for that 8o\

I actually have a video of me using my EQ/EQII CDs/cases as targets. They didn't stand a chance vs my SKS, .44mag, or Blackhawk.

Man it'd be great if we could have a server with only the old world content, well maybe up to Luclin since they got beastlords, but beyond that I don't care about it much, except for DoN since it sounds interesting. I think SoE thought about doing this before, but the thought went downhill quite fast, they want our money through new expansions and if they were to make a old world only server just think of the population....they'll need more than one server for it no matter what.

If you dont mind work i bet you could setup your own eqemu server w/ all the old world content. Im sure there are ppl on the intraweb who would help you w/ it too.

Its actually easy if you wanted to just make expansions added into it. A days work if you know the right palces to get stuff. Only problem is EQemu is broken right now, becasue they won't patch it to the latest patch.
Also, if anyone was interested, I wrote up alot of quests and conversations with NPC's in a EQemu server which has yet to be published but will when the game is running correctly for a server and every zone is new and stuff has been revamped. It's neat.
Getting to if anyone was interested, I would help out on the writing imagination part of a server if anyone wanted to make it happen.

The problem is not many people can afford the number or machines and the bandwidth required to run more the 3 zones. After about 10 users online and more then 3 active zones it's time to add another machine.
From my experience in the past it's about 1-3 zones per machine depending on specs.
Lag is a huge issue do the bandwidth required. I hope you have a phat pipe to do this; your little cable modem wont even stand a chance.
