- Most equipment must now be attuned before it provides any benefit. This is likely to affect items currently being worn by your character.
- Wearing gear that is not attuned will display a warning message in your Inventory window.
- If you wish to attune everything your character is wearing, you can type the "/attune_equip all" command. This will only affect items currently being worn.
- Until you attune your gear, IT WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY PROTECTION WHICH MEANS YOU MAY DIE HORRIBLY. Please remember to attune your gear!
- Items that have been attuned cannot be sold or traded to other players, but they can be sold to NPC merchants.

The Diameter in your gaping anus must increase everyday from the amount of c**k that is shoved in there from SOE employees eh?
I have yet to see WoW completely change a concept from their game in coordinance with how SOEs EQ2 functions.
That is the sad thing, you f*****g eq2 c**k lover.

No you're just a dumbshit and I'm sick to f*****g death of seeing these gay Goraz-only topics about how much SOE sucks and Blizzard is awesome... especially given the nature of this one... you have to be a complete ignoramus to claim Sony is "copying" Blizzard with attunement, because first of all attune'ing items came out with the Omens of War EQ1 expansion which predates WoW and secondly there's no veritable way to claim Blizzard possesses greater originality than SOE since SOE was making MMORPG raid content while the homos at Blizzard were still perfecting the sound effects on orc units for some tired-a*s "realtime" strat 1player. Granted you could possibly argue that the whole lot of them are copying off of Sierra's King Quest but then again you could say that Sierra jacked their storylines off of Tolkien who was just embellishing Middle Age lore like King Arthur who was really just trying to be Jesus Christ with armor. So basically, we're all plagarists, but you also happen to be a moron.

ROFL
funny, the first attuned item i ever saw was at the newbie starter isle... begining of game.
its even part of the tutorial, how to attune and what attuning an item means.. its been there from the start.
the armor quest for your class armor is all attune to wear, and many of the rare items made to player wearable usable items have to be attuned and have for a while now...
so how is this copying wow now?

Attunable items have been in EQ2 since Beta. The reason they are, or may be, implementing them more now is artisan class balancing.
Provisioners and Alchemists have been making much more coin than armorers or weaponsmiths. The big difference being consumables. This essentially makes armor a consumable. Not at the rate of food or potions, but it'll likely help some.

I was never talking about the actual concept you f*****g idiot. That in itself was adopted a long time ago and passed on to many games. I am talking about the concept of applying this item to virtually all gear now before being equipped. Which was essentially what Blizzard concieved for their game in an effort to balance the economy from day 1 of release. SOE goes and pulls a 180 with their form of economy with a carbon copy of Blizzard's concept. Face it you worthless douche bag; Any game that out of the blue, after being out for roughly 3 months now, pulls an idea out of the hat like this and labels it a different name is "Copying" no matter what way you slice it.
SOE is a piece of shit company with piece of shit products. You name one game that THEY themselves have developed that is still going strong long-term. And NO EQ does not count because the original developers of that game left a long f*****g time ago. Back when EQ was actually good, Kunark and Velious Era. I am not praising Blizzard with all cookies and cream on how WoW is perfect. WoW is far from perfect and far from being "teh win" game.
This is the first time i've seen Maldek actually reply to a statement with more than 1 sentence. Sad thing is, you still look like a f*****g idiot. I'd just stick with your 1 phrase retard comments. Will save you more time to j**k-off and coordinate the next sad event in your pathetic life.
Dumbshit.

While a bit more harsh than I myself would post heh, the fact that WoW steals things is valid. All MMO's "Steal" from each other and implement ideas from other games.

Just curious - if you arent playing anymore, why are you following patches on Test server? (Not a flame - a curious question)

I like to follow up and see what SOE is doing with EQ2. I was really anticipating EQ2 to be a great success and I was fairly dissapointed after 31 levels. I had no ambition to log on and even progress further. The game enviroment is too controlled with SOE throwing leashes on alot of aspects of the game, mostly PvE (since there is no PVP, which is absolute b******t). The one thing about eq2 I really enjoyed was the crafting system. After I discovered that eq2 was heaping pile of shit, I finally threw in the towel for SOE. While no company is perfect for a market like MMORPGS, SOE has more experience dealing with them and has still failed to rectify their mistakes. Hence the reason they are "plagarizing" (right Maldek? You c**t) from Blizzard.
Blizzard still has alot to learn and they did a real shit-a*s job on server stablity and server structure (look at the AH's, they have to re-write a shitload of network code to have an AH in every city & linked). With their notorious reputation for "taking their jolly-f****n time" with patches and content, this is another killer in the mmorpg market. They need to move faster and release fixes and content in larger increments so it gets out to the public faster. Rather than launching a huge patch every 4 months with no more than 20 significant changes to the game.
So you see, i'm not some Blizzard fan boi (Yeah f**k you Baha, SOE c**k licker) And i've played both games to make a constructive critque on them. My opinion is based upon experience from both games and if you don't like it, kindly go f**k yourself and drink some bleach. I'll state whatever I want.

See my above statement regarding plagarism. Big f*****g deal who did it first, if it's a system that works, most likely everyone is going to use it. WoW can go ahead and thank Sony now for the 5 years it spent developing & perfecting the high-end content in such expansions as the Ruins of Kunark (Veeshan's Peak and epic encounters & raids for every class) Scars of Velious (Temple of Veeshan, 'nuff said) Scars of Luclin (SSRA & VT) Planes of Power (The Elemental Planes & Plane of Time) Lost Dungeons of Norrath (not neccessarily high-end, b/c raids suxd, but nonetheless a valuable lesson in personalized content that the casual & hardcore population could both enjoy) Gates of Discord (Strangely-named zones that only the leetest leetsters could ever hope to visit) Omens of War (Citadel of Anguish and Epic 1.5 & 2.0 quests for every class) and as of yesterday, the Dragons of Norrath expansion, which has new content being discovered at this very moment.
As you can see, Blizzard owes SOE a great deal of debt for fronting the funds to suffer thru every stage of development for each of these expansions. And while opinions vary on each of these projects, it is nonetheless irrefutable that these expansions paved the way for other MMO games, such as Worlds of Warcraft. It would certainly serve to reason that the companies entering this genre would review the lessons learned and try to build off of the successes while learning from the mistakes. Therefore, when you go and say something so f*****g ridiculously stupid as "ONG SOE COPIED BLIZZARD, WTF THEY ARE TEH SUCK" you cannot be discounted any further than that already: Blizzard should feel honored that part of their concepts is being adopted into the EverQuest dynamic. (Even then, I am conceding to part of your argument for the sake of brevity: Blizzard didn't invent Attunement, SOE did, show us the game where it was before EQ, don't just say "was adopted a long time ago and passed on to many games." That's b******t.) I wouldn't be suprised if the devs on the WoW staff are ex-EQ1 players or even current subscribers. As for your personal opinion of EQ, whether you enjoyed the 6 months you spent leveling a troll tank to 65 before quitting or whether you hated every froglok slain along the way, it's undeniable the work Sony put forth has created a veritable monolith of MMO achievements that will remain untoppled for many years to come.

It's nice to see a young person hating a faceless corporation, there really isn't enough of this on the Internet. Face it: your opinion of a multi-national corporation doesn't amount to a heap of dog feces. As for Sony's track record with games, I think that despite your opinion of it, the original EverQuest is the most popular MMORPG to date. It may not have the longest lifespan, but I do believe it was played by more people than any other game in the genre. And while we all are aware that you believe EQ1 "sucks donkey balls" I'd wager to estimate that there are several thousand other people that played EQ1, had an enjoyable experience, and would rate the game highly.
And while it's true that the people who developed the game were not employees of Sony initially, SOE pays the bills for this b***h; it is their game now. As for the developers leaving, they simply went to work on a new project: EQ2. The core team from Verant who designed the expansions you claim to be "the best" (Retail, Kunark, Velious) are the people who developed EQ2. I'm not enough of a diehard to know them all by name, but it was in the promotional material. Anyone who played Eq1 retail and Eq2 retail should be able to feel the similarities. Speaking of that, I don't remember seeing you in Kunark or Velious? How exactly do you consider them the best expansions if you weren't playing them?

Look, just because I don't spend 10 hours a day filling the Internet with anti-SOE shit means my opinion is irrelevant. It should be clear to anyone who reads these forums more than twice a year that you:
A. Hate EverQuest and SOE products despite playing them and quitting them several times
B. Cannot stop following the development of SOE MMORPG products, despite claiming what poor products they are.
C. Enjoy creating tank characters in different games, leveling them to a certain point, then quitting them with a furious heap of posts about how the game is at fault for your dissatisfaction.
I'm not sure what it is with you, but obviously you're habitually unhappy with the quality of games you select. Creating and developing an online role-playing character can be both a fun and daunting task; a lot of time is involved to build the character, this time spent increases as the character ventures into more "difficult" levels of progression. Because you have failed to continue developing your chosen characters beyond certain points in several games, it seems you become frustrated with the work required to gain additional character improvements and resolve to abandon your work. This sudden disinterest seems to couple itself with a venemous outlashing towards the game itself, a game which you chose to play voluntarily. In actuality, you should be blaming yourself for continuing to play games which repeatedly fail to bring you satisfaction. Your next thread should be entitled "My name is Goraz, and I do not have the patience for MMORPGs but I continue to play them." Either that or you should invest in a new hobby, such as backgammon or shuffleboard. Clearly the massively multi-player online role-playing genre does not fit your personality.
In the meantime, I would focus on improving your personal demeanor and perhaps sprucing up your personal appearance. From the animated GIF in your signature, which features a man full-force clocking some lady, you have some built-up aggression towards women. Smooth out your anger and develop additional interests aside from whether or not chainmail can be equipped by gnomes and maybe you'll lose your virginity before EQ3 hits retail shelves in 2012.
