I been trying to run 2 EQW's at a time, but once i open second EQW, both EQ's lag real bad. It's all choppy and s***s. I'm runnin an AMD Athlon XP 2100 1.7ghz and 512mb ram, so my comp shouldn't be the problem. Runnin Windows XP too. I can run it just find on my old computer, and its only 650mhz 512mb ram w/ win98 se. I have even made two EQ directories but still no go. Anyone got any dieas?

try setting all the graphics to low, and don't run in windows larger than 1024x768.
I can run 2 windows on my 1.6 p4 w/ 256 DDR. Just do with spell effects off, 20% clip, and 800x600 windows.

Lol @ Ish.
I have tried turning everything I can think of down. Taken reso down to 800x600, never have luclin graphics on, and nothing works.

are you using EQW or are you running eq twice and using window'd mode.
i think if you use the program EQW to run to instaences it will work.

I run 2 at 1280x1024 and it doesnt lag that bad. Would make it 800x600 but I'm too lazy and don't wanna mess around with rearranging everything on my UI, plus I dont think it'll fit

When I run EQW, I can't toggle between the windows, I can see the other one, but I cant get to it using the normal commands.
I cant do it using the EQ windowed version either. One screen goes black while I am on the other char and I can't get the black screen to appear again. I do get sound though, but just black screen on that window.
What am I doing wrong?

turn off all the skins, that will make it run just fine...and if your botting a druid or cleric thats not pulling / moving...take clip plane down all the way for the druid only and your all set.

I always have the skins off anyways, and it lags regardless of where the clip plane lies.

try playing with both windows directly on top of eachother, then just toggle back and forth. That used to help a bit, not sure if still does. Need a 2nd account again to try it

try turning off backround programs and applications. anything that could be taking up resources like instant message programs,antivirus/firewall and mediaplayer type stuff. also check when you are running eqw your processor usage. with eqw it is sort of like running eq twice as it uses a different program to render the graphics with the eq engine. so when you are running it twice it has all that buffertime to deal with between your ram video card processer different busses, hard drive ect. so really almost nothing you can do besides deal with the choppyness. Ciladar said try running one on top of the other. that would be your best bet but you will still have processor usage for it. anyway hope this can be of some help.

I had the same problem. What caused it with me is when i loaded the 2nd EQW character, either him or both started lagging. But when i loaded them at the same time, there was no problem. No luclin models, low resu, no spell effects, only first names etc are whats makes them run better
