Retail maybe June 2006 or later.
I was in the Alpha and am in the Beta. Trust me when I say you can get more out of NWN or the newer NWN2. I mean, why pay for DDO monthly when NWN2 will be just as good, with no monthly payments.

NWN2 will be simply amazing if it has the same kind of support the NWN mod community has. Some of the stuff that gets made is better than the retail game itself.

rely the CEP rocked, but the engine is pretty dated. If nwn actually allows mod support and the ability to create new landscape and what not then yeah it should be cool, but really who knows how long that will be.
As for docs comments on paying vs playing for free, you could wait years to play nwn2 and frankly its only fun with friends because lets face it, the cheaters out there ruin games faster than you can say "Download that hack".
So even if nwn2 comes out there will be a market for a controlled game with no cheaters in a arena where you can meet people freely.
