actually yes, they are put in jail, but if they prove they can behave, we let em take some weekends off. this actuall y helps them not "lose touch" serving x years behind a jail. locking someone away for 15 years never seeing normal life = worse than when he came in. This is proven fact. they even get a pc in their room if they want, and also get an education. max sentence here is 21 years btw.  flame that

At least they have had a trial, who cares how long they sit on Death row after theyve been convicted. Life in prison is a much more punishing sentence, death im sure is a thankful release.
Admit it, Justice on the continent of europe is incompetant at best. I just read a story about guys robbing a store with MP5's in Oslo. I cant remember the last time I heard about someoone using FULLY AUTOMATIC WEAPONS in a robbery in America. Kinda scary your criminals have weapons we only see in Video games here in the states.
If by example, they arent being locked away without a trial for years and years, they are being slapped on the hand for horrible crimes. Your countries could learn something from our justice system and our Constitution.

They are equipped with bathrobes, cosmetic mirror, coffee maker, full ironing board and iron, bottled sparkling water, extra large television set, refrigerator, safe box, and dressing room area. All so you don't lose touch with reality!

The American legal system is far from perfect.
IIRC the U.S. has the highest percentage of it's population behind bars, mostly for non-violent acts.
And we (the taxpayers) pay for every facet of their existence behind those bars.
Hell, when I lived in Fort Worth, TX, the opening of the new Tarrant County jail was delayed due to the cable TV not functioning properly...
