Pardon me for being archaic, but where does everyone download free music now? WinMx is always unreliable and goddamnit I want to download The Chronic!

I don't have an iPod or anything and I'm gay.

Very rarely do I get a bunk song, and it did not install any shitware on my system.

I get everything through torrents these days. Defiant.ws I think is a good place to search. I'd also recommend you download Peer Guardian, it blocks incoming connections from known RIAA type places.

Just be sure you disable it before you try and play eq rottflskates.

If you have someplace for me to dump the files, I can upload the chronic to you.

I just use bit torrents.
Especially for discographies, and shit.
I use Ares if I just want a single song, works for me.

Demonoid and TorrentSpy for my torrents of a random nature.

Usually find everything I want on one of those two sites.

i got alot of stuff off emule, but felt dirty afterwards Smile
even after shuting it down, would have to pull a new ip
to stop all the crap banging off zone alarm and pg

torrents are okay for new or popular stuff
but having to spend a week to get that last 5% too many times lately
is driving me nuts.

got more than i can ever listen to from newgroups
with more people using .par repair files, the headache factor
droped by 90%
lots of isps are droping newsgroups now and many others have
monthly caps

Soulseek. It's off and on, but if you're looking for anything that was or is remotely popular, someone will have it.

OK so its been about 2 years since I used bittorrent or limewire, so on everyone's recommendation decided to try it again. Downloaded Morpheus and Limewire Pro. In 45 mins, looking for ONE program I want, here are my results:

3 different viruses
1 trojan
19 tracking cookies deposited by above listed torrent sites

I tried downloading 4 different sources of the program I want, and didnt get one clean copy. This is the reason I stopped using them 2 years ago. Here's my results with eMule in 16 months or so:

0 trojans
0 viruses
only a handful of incomplete files

Back to eMule for me. Maybe I just had bad luck, but GL with your DL adventures Wink

Limewire is teh biggest hunkof shit I ever installed in my system. I tried t nce on a recommendation, and put a contract ut on that person soon after.

Out of the 10 or so songs I tried to get, most were shit or not the right thing. I got spammed with shit all the time, and it installed some shit programs like Gator on my machine without asking.

When I went to uninstall it...well lets just say it took a while. Some of the components it installed had no way to uninstall them. I had to go in and delete the files and manually edit the registry entries out. It also ate my machine up with so much spy/malware that I almost did a fresh install just to be sure I got it all.

In closing......

LIMEWIRE CAN LICK MY a*****e AFTER A CURRY EATING CONTEST!!!!!!!
