I have to come up with some questions for the producer of the Doom movie coming out and I need help. I just got asked and I thought I would put it here for a better cross section.

My first question is:

Why wasn it not set on Mars.

Some of you might have been following the story closer so I put it to you, my realpoorians. What do you want to know?

Consider these questions are mean to spark discussion so don't geek out too much.

diplomatic version:

"Have you made efforts to prevent some of the shortfalls of previous movies based upon video games: the high attention to graphics and imagery, unfortunately handicapped by a weak script lacking a cohesive and compelling storyline, and full of plot holes and inconsistency"

I still wonder what happened at the end of that movie. It ended with the correct setting for a sequel, but never delivered. But then as I got older I realized how dumb that movie was and I'm thankful a sequel never made it.

FF spirits within was the only video game based movie I liked. I never really got what was final fantasy like about it though besides the name.

How about: When the next Columbine like incident happens will this movie be blamed in place of the Doom video game?

Or for a more serious question I guess: How closely did you work with the creators of the Doom video game when creating the movie?

Ask them if they can get Milla Jovovich to play the lead role. She was reason enough to see the Resident Evil movies!

Ask them if they are going to follow the plot line from the game series exactly or if it's going to deviate to allow them to create a s****y plot line thats going to make the entire movie suck ass.

Also, how many lead roles will they have, and who do they plan on having these roles played by. There seemed to be only one main character in the game series and the corporation which he worked for, which leaves several possibilities for casting..or it could leave the possibility of having no other characters and set him in the zombie infestation right off the bat..

What's their idea for creating the "boss demon" or whatever, and will he be going to hell? *shrug* thats all I can think of..

Tell them they better have great writers god damnit.

Haha! That's a brilliant question. The producer's head is liable to explode if asked this. =)

It wont be. Possibly an R, but no studio will grant a large budget to an NC-17 movie which is considered the Mark of Death in the movie industry. It is Just not gonna happen.

Ok, so got a few of the questions in and some made the writer/producer a little uncomfortable but hell he should be.

He dodged why it wasn't on Mars.

As for this not sucking, he is aware of the suckage of other game movies and he said the pitfall was avoided because he went after the story first and staying true to the DOOM universe. Same guy who wrote/produced this also wrote on West Wing and a ton of other great TV shit.

As a side note to staying true, they took a big hit in box office to get ti right in his opinion. They we asked to come up with a PG-13 version and he told the studios they couldn’t make it pg-13 and still work with the property. So it sounds like they cut it R, that’s a bit of good news. No watered down demon violence.

The trailer looks good but a lot of the CG wasn’t in yet so most of the effects were all prosthetics. Even then they looked good for now. The sets look cool. A lot of the art work was worked hand in hand with the ID guys so many of the creatures are going to be direct reflections (Imps, Barron, ect.).

Yes the Rock is in it.

For deals on h3rb4l v!agra I sent them your e-mail addy Occulis.

Even if it was possible to make this movie to be great to watch, it's not going to happen and it's going to most likely suck big time. It might be decent, but it definately won't become as good as it possibly can be even if whoever's doing the movie wanted to. Doom itself has been under a lot of shit by people in the past and still is used for blame. When I first played Doom on my 75mhz computer(Damn it's been more than 10 years ago, lol) when it came out I didn't get no idea of going out and go postal on everyone's ass or any deathly thoughts. The game was fun to play through, but there's these people out there that sees shit happen in real life and they turn around and see this game so they think since it's damn simular in a way due to that real life action they can put blame on it. They should have their brains bashed out and replaced with a more intelligent one because violence like that has been out WAY before television was even fricking thought of. Anyways in short: It's going to be a no brainer that this movie's going to mostly suck because of the past with the game itself. That's probably why Resident Evil wasn't as great because of the 'violence' related in slaying mindless zombies and shit.
