I got this idea from another forum, but noone was answering the guy who posted it over there, so i thought I'd try here: Can you take a healing weapon and use elemental magic on it (of the type that you suck at) and reduce the damage it deals, so that you make an efficient healing item out of it?

Been there, bought the t-shirt… you're not the first guy who though of this one. The bottom line is, though it depends on the item, you're usually better off just using a wand for healing. If you do what you describe on some weapons, you might end up with a small risk of damage being higher than the healing, which is bad.
