I deal with people who cannot type, cannot work a mouse, do not know what the phrase "web site" means, and yet want to be on the internet.
I firmly believe some people do not deserve access to:
* information
* health care
* schools

I think it should be for computers in general. Their money could be better spent on getting education so that they are proficient with spelling and computer use :l

We've long been lobbying for some kind of entrance exam just to shop in our store (CompUSA). I feel your pain, Dunn.
I need a drink and then a good cry.

passive shitbaggers who have no pro-active capacity ensure people such as myself will always profit.
proofs: fast food, expensive medicines to treat conditions which a little preventative maintenance would avoid, $50 oil changes and, of course, "MY COMPUTER IS BROKE - I GOT VIRUS - I NEED INTERNET."

I've been at CompUSA for so long... internet retailers were nearly unheard of my first few years there. Hell, the internet itself was fiction to most people lol.

AOL has complete control over these people, do not fret! My mother is one of them. And my grandfather. You should have seen the look on her face when I tried to explain to her what hosting an image was.

CompUSA is probably one of the worst stores I've ever been to. I hate that place. At least they switched to clear bags, so that stupid f*****g security guard doesn't have to mess with you.

CompUSA is the devil, and the security guards are terrible lol. Comp's business model apparently doesn't leave much payroll for sales to cover the floor adequately, so product gets stolen left and right.
The theft is really, really bad, so they hire thugs to try to deter thieves at the door. Whatever, they're morons and it doesn't work.

I've considered many times refusing to allow the security guard to inspect my bag, then making a big scene just for fun. I never did it because I would always just rather avoid the hassle. Now they don't have the security guard anymore, and I want to do it. I am sad.

Now we use 'front-end security coordinators.' We ended our contract with Pro-tek, a rent-a-cop outfit that only charged us $10 an hour (so you can imagine what the guards were really only making after Pro-tek's cut lol).
Problem is, the company employed FESC's are just morons that couldn't even cut it on the registers. 2 of the 3 at my store are certified retards.... and I'm not even making this up lol.

I wish CompUSA was dead. Why not install the alarms that every Macy's has? Anyway, another fun CompUSA story. I go in there one time, and this kind older gentleman with a thick european accent was trying to return some CD-R's because he meant to get CD-RW's. This black woman working at the counter asked him if he had a receipt (which he did), but for one reason or another she didn't want to let him exchange them. He didn't understand why and, though he was being perfectly polite, this woman (a ghetto child) started raising her voice. He said (not yelled), "I just don't understand why I just cant' exchange them." and she yelled (not said) back, "You don't have to raise your voice at me! Don't raise your voice at me!" It was a big fiasco going on for about 10 minutes until the manager finally came over and exchanged them for him.

People getting p****d is nearly a daily occurrence, especially ever since we started that stupid 15% restocking fee. God... people b***h and moan all day about that one.
Anywho... I stay away from the front-end (it's not my job) but sometimes the ruckus gets so loud you can hear it everywhere. About 6 months ago we had a guy blow up on my buddy Frank (who was with the company since '95, but just got fired in March). I guess it was over Frank not allowing some customer to return something because he bought it over 30 days ago. The customer wound up calling the cops and all that great stuff, and harsh words were exchanged, but the law sided with Frank!
So as the extremely p****d customer was leaving, he decided it would be annoying to thrust his hand along our counter and push the 20 stacks of rebates on the floor. One problem... he was quite lacking in coordination, and despite his mighty swoop, just one lonely piece of paper floated to the floor. It was hilarious, the guy just failed in every possible way that afternoon.

Since CompUSA is privately held now, it's very unlikely they are going to disappear easily.
