I saw a news article about this on TV, and they ran this film clip of dodgeball with boys and girls together, and range of ages going up to about 16 really hurling the balls hard, then cutting to little girls running away from the balls, which actually managed to make it look sort of dangerous.
But if this girl was seven, and she just tripped. It's just one of those things that could happen under any circumstances; kids fall down playing all the time.

s***w that, how else are black kids in inner city schools supposed to get practice at dodging bullets, running from cops, and jumping fences? If anything dodgeball is a vital part of preparing them for the outside world, what should be done is making dodgeball fair to white people by requiring them to be hit twice as many times to be out of the game since they aren't nearly as athletic.

it's EVERYTHING now. when ABC played Saving Private Ryan unedited, they recieved over 100 FCC threats due to the word f**k.
yet a few years ago when they aired it unedited the first time they got... 1
It's a movie about war. we're in the middle of one now (kinda), and you're going to scream that the word f**k is offensive? these people need to jump out of buildings...
what's happening to this country?

We're going back to traditional values, of course. It's probably only a matter of time till we go back to the traditional value of not sending girls to school at all, and then dodgeball won't be a problem anymore.

Frivilous lawsuits yay...
Now we'd get in trouble when I was in school if we played tackle football, but when we'd use the church baseball field for it and I broke my finger my parents didn't go suing the church. I had a splint put on the finger and was told to put some ice on it.

we used play in highschool pe, 3 grades at a time (8,9,10) boys vs boys, and girls vs girls
i think we were the last to play it at our school, it was taken out of the school
in the mid 80s. it was one of my fav things to do.
i think a couple of broken noses it worst things that happen
the guys were always about even, with equal amounts of talent
but the girls was a totally different story.
there was one girl who was just as good if not better than the guys, should
would punish the rest of the girls, it was fun to watch

That sucks Renork, i can remember playing dodgeball all the way through high school. Lovely game..i always loved hitting someone in the legs as they jumped/dodged another ball.

There was a game in highschool we use to play during PE physical ed, where you dribbled the dodgeball and threw it to try and score a goal . Was a cross between basketball and soccer. Anyways it wasnt really my thing but when I played I remembered knocking this kid out that was goal keeper.
I was kind of mean when I played that game from time to time ... I didnt really care about scoring a goal ... It was more fun tagging whoever was goal keeper on any given day.
