Directv and their satellites...

so i have dtv and have had the same dish now for going on 2 years. i have an old HD samsung tuner that i bought at that time also. i have the dtv hd package that gets me all of like 10 channels in the 70's. plus i get my local channels over the air.

my question is this....

i know that dtv put up a new HD satellite about 6 months ago and its now live. what channels will i GAIN in HD that i don't already get now. i mean, is it worth buying a new mpeg4 oval dish and the 20 tuner that goes with it now? or just wait because i'll gain little to nothing and technology will only get better until its truly worth upgrading.

DTV just put up 2 new sats that are carrying the local HD feeds (abc, cbs, nbc, & fox) in a mpeg4 format. To receive these you need a new receiver (H20) that can decode the mpeg 4 streams. They are rolling these out 12 markets at a time based on viewership numbers. at some point they plan to convert everything over to mpeg4. At some point they will be adding other HD content but they havent announced a timeframe.

There are lots of channels coming in HD outside of the locals (which rock). I think TNTHD just popped up on mine the other week where it wasn't there before. They are onlining channels now and when I got my stuff installed (5LNB + H20 receivers), the installers told me in the next 6 months there should be quite a few more channels coming. Its been almost 4 months and lol 1 has shown up. So I hope more hit soon...
