I am considering getting a digital camera. I have been using an ancient Minolta X370 35mm camera since the mid 80's and figure it is finally time to get something current. Anyone recommend a nice 4-5 megapixel camera? I am thinking along the lines of the Olympus Camedia C-750 Ultrazoom. Mainly I am going to be taking it to work with me taking shots of gruesome deathscenes and other interesting tidbits of life (and death) I run across. So I am looking for a medium to small or compact size with decent res abilities and decent storage.

when I got my camera 2 years ago i went to http://www.cnet.com and looked through the digital cameras. with a few clicks of the options i wanted, I got to select from 5-10 cameras and read all of the user comments.
for example, i wanted one small enough to fit in my pocket, nice realisitic pictures, and a good zoom.
good luck

i got a nikon coolpix 3100. It's 3.2 megapixels and a nice, compact size.
you really don't need more than 3.2 for snapshots. you could zoom in 2x and still have excellent quality with 3.2.
