How well do they work?

Get all channels through 02-9xx?

Anything to watch out for? I thought that digital cable was 2 way so there could be signal going back to the cable company?

I got a chip that i plug into my cable box. For Cablevision up here in NJ you get access to all the channels that are available. Its something like 80 or so? (70-80+ houses nothing but static) The chip won't get you HBO or Strarz though... Only thing I've had to worry about was taking the chip otu when you return the box, or have the cable guy come over to check a power problem we were having

there's no chip for digital cable. but the chips work for the non digital channels which does include some PPV and some other premium channels.

The whole idea behind digital cable was to stop people from stealing the signal. As far as I know there aren't any boxes that will descramble the signal yet. They advertise it as having better quality picture and more channels but I think that's crap ;p

Just get satellite...You can buy chips for 50 bucks and you get all the channels from all different time zones.

All the sports channels, porn channels, PPV.....EVERYTHING!

I dunno where to get those chips tho, my friend got his from his father in mexico and I have no idea how he hooked it up (recieved the signal), because I was stoned when he told me. Sad

gotta love those "full proof digital descramblers"

If they can't master the english language, why should I buy a very complex piece of hardware from them?

the problem i had with digitla cable descramblers is that all the ones i found worked by blocking return signals to the cable company.

so you order a pay per view, the box lets you watch it. what would normally happen is the cable box would contact the cable company and tell them you ordered the PPV and then the company would charge you for it. \

so yes, these work. the problem is that the cable box only has a limited amount of memory that you, from what i had read, cannot clear out. and once that memory is full, you cannot watch any tv through that cable box. well, then you call your cable company to fix the issue and they see then, that you ordered lots of PPV and never paid for it so you get charged.

if that doens't get you, then eventually, the cable company may cut off your service since the box hasen't been communicating with the company. in which case you have to call them =)
