Anyone else pick this up?
I've been playing it for a couple hours, I like it so far. The story is pretty non-existant but the characters are pretty neat and completely over the top.
The characters range from awesome badasses wielding 6 katanas at once, to the usual retarded shit like some little girl with a southern hick accent with a giant hammer as big as a f*****g car. The worst though is this guy with one of those Kabuki masks with the most god-awful annoying voice you've ever heard in your life, and he keeps repeating the same 3 lines during his whole stage to the point you have to turn off the volume and just boss rush him to get it the f**k over with.
The stages are awesome though, there is a lot more enviroment interaction than similar games like Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors. Plus each of the characters you face has his own unique looking troops on their stage. You pretty much get to face anything you can think of (Egyptian Anubis types with dog masks and shit, Celtic looking berserker dudes, fully armored medievel knights, hick villagers with rakes and shit, european priest guys, and so on.)
The moves are pretty slick looking from what i've seen so far with the 2 guys i've played. The main character uses a sword in 1 hand and a shotgun in the other. The square lets you attack with the sword and triangle with the shotgun. You can switch between the two during a combo allowing you to fluidly use both at the same time, which is pretty much required. When you hit them with your triangle attack it "stuns" them which lets you do more damage to them in that state. Plus its the only way to build up your Fury bar, which lets you do your super attack. (yes, very similar to DW)
If you are a fan of the Dynasty Warriors series or just want some mindless beat-em-up fun its worth a rental or a buy. Theres lots of unlockable shit in the game (characters, leveling up your guys, like 30ish items, 6 different weapons for each character, hidden stages, etc.)
