Decorating my college apartment room

Any ideas to decorate my room in my new apartment when I move in. I want to make it a really chill place to sit around and hit a bong or pipe and just chill out

Door Beads
Lawn Gnomes in various places in the room
Glow in dark stars on ceiling
Big wooden tribal mask on wall
Corona beach scene throw blanket on wall

The big problem is you have too many themes, none of which work together. Pick what you want your "motif" to be, so to speak, and coordinate the whole thing around that idea. You'll be much happier.
Of course, if your motif is Jimmy Buffet, you're doing fine so far.
Yeah, whatever you choose, don't turn your apartment into a Bennigan's or Applebee's with random shit all over.

I decided late in life to say f**k YOU to conformity when it comes to stuff like decorating....
I gave up trying to match furniture, curtains, paint colors, blah blah--been there, done that. Was very nice in my old princess life to have an almost perfectly decorated home. I came to realize that (along with many other things) that it just wasn't ME.
Now, I have a few pieces of furniture that I really like--my bed, my couch, my stained glass lamp, etc...
Everything else is just what "speaks" to me, and I don't give a rat's a*s if it matches. Somehow, it seems to work cause I do get some nice compliments, but even if no one else gets it, well...they don't have to live here, now do they?
Glow in the dark stars--I didn't use them on the ceiling but I made a spray of them on the wall at the head of my bed. They look like they are cascading down onto it. I also have glow in the dark butterflies. Did them on a sort of "return" wall...made it look like there was a "school" of them flying away...

Hopefully they'll actually have a team for football this year... last year was pathetic.
When I was in college I ripped out the combo bed/dresser unit to make more room, built a loft about 6 feet off the floor (had a high ceiling) to be the bed, put a really nice leather sofa (borrowed for four years from the lobby of the admin building) underneath it, and hung indian print bedspreads from the ceiling in big looping folds, and replaced the door with beads. It ended up being pretty comfortable, although the university bitched about the holes in the walls, and they were a little peevish when they finally got the sofa back.
Just get some cheap furniture (Ikea is fine as long as you don't expect it to last) and paint it yourself.
Make sure you've got enough storage.
Go to the poster store and get yourself a poster of a painting or 2 that you like. Get a small one for the bathroom.
Basically, women expect men to decorate for shit. If you actually put some thought and effort into your place, you'll pleasantly surprise your female guests.
