I used to have a really nice pair of headphones a while back. Unfortunately the dog was lying under my desk and when someone knocks on the door she flips out and runs to it. Well, it caught the line going from the volume knob to my headphones and ripped it out f*****g up the headphones pretty bad. Right now I'm using a pair of reaaaally old KOSS headphones taped together and they're dying. I want to get a pair that will last a while and not some 10 dollar pair at wal-mart or something. Where can I get a nice pair that aren't too expensive?

These are a great deal. You can probably get a pair on EBay for $75.

They are. I have a pair of them, huge as f**k, so not very portable, but their sound is awesome. Only problem is they have no volume control.

I picked up a pair of Sony headphones from Best Buy for around 21 bucks that I have really enjoyed. Good sound and a decent range on em too.

I like these:
I found them at a garage sale a few years ago, the guy said they were about $50 when they first came out, so maybe you can find them cheaper.

Neodymium magnet speakers!@!! Nice! not only do they destroy your eardrums with HEAD POUNDING BASS, they also scramble your brainwaves with RARE EARTH MAGNET BRAIN BLASTING POWER.

Those were the headphones of my childhood, and they are great and very comfortable, but they're heavy compared to today's headphones, and are more likely to slip off if you make a sudden movement.
