Darkfall Online?

Is Darkfall Online any good because i have been really wanting to play the game but i cant make up my mind wethier i want to pay £40~ for it which is alot of money for a game that could possibly disappoint.
Ive saw alot of review of the game and ive saw all the bad things about it and also saw the good thing, I defintely think that this is the way forward in the MMORPG genre but i just dont know if Darkfall has given us that masterpiece you would hope for, perhaps just enlightened the path for others to follow. I like the idea of no classes in this game and it being just one massive world where you do what you want to do and also getting away from the usual skillbar routine of 1,2,3 refresh, 4,5,6...

So what are your opinions of this game? Id really like to try this game but i dont wanna pay out so much money on it to be disappointed perhaps.

Yea i read the second review that the other guy wrote describing about the whole situation that developed due to the author of that review giving Darkfall such a bad rating, i dont know the truth tho i guess.

I dunno ive kinda gave up on that game anyways, was being offered an account in it for £15 but id need to pay subscription then if there is a fee which i think there is meaning id need to pay like £23 and im not paying that for a MMORPG that hasnt recieved a rating over 4/10 or 5/10 by any review ive saw. But thanks anyways for digging up this article.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the reviews. I really think that Darkfall is an amazing game, the best MMO I have played, but it doesn't suit some people. A game like Darkfall isn't going to appeal to the masses, but the only way to see if you like it or not is to try it. At first the game can be difficult, thats why I think it got low reviews because the reviewers didn't get to try things in the "later game."

I wanna try it but im put off completely by the price more than the reviews.

If it costs less than 10 $ for the box then buy it (just for the laugh, u will understand when u will see the animations).

when u getting the £10 for the box thing? it costs £44 for an account on the official website and its not for sale anywhere else, as far as ive seen.

don't buy it! I played it a while but this game is crap... read some tests and you'll know

well after some thought and went ahead and bought the game but i have a friend who will buy my account when im done so im not really lossing any money, the bad news is that he will not be able to buy it because unfortnately i have fell for this game, love it. I will think about writing a review of this game and try to make it fair as possible giving a "From a wow fans point of view" section of the review .
But here's briefly what i like about the game.
Its different, no more Wow styled gameplay as some would categorise them. This meaning, the same old boring UI layout and skillbar number bashing action! with the same old boring process of quest, quest, some instance, quest more, and just a little bit more, raid, raid, raid, raid, epic gear woo!, now what.
The players are very friendly if you are friendly to them, if not things can be very nasty indeed, + friends are the most important thing in this game so treasure them and dont let go.
The Player built citys are very interesting and your character is what you make it.
Another thing i love about this game is the RP aspect, you get more of a feel that you are actualy your character and you are exploring this beautiful world along with your character.
But as i said after my last 5 days of playing this game are up i will think about writting up a review of the game.

I tried it and HATED it! The animations weren't very good, it took WAY too long to die, the world is too BIG!

Just not the game for me. But if you like it, awesome.

i can see where all the people who hate it are coming from but its just one of them games you either love it or hate it, they done the same thing as other developers did such as the developers of eve, they tried to re-invent MMORPG but they don't have the capability to do that being an independent developer. Perhaps if a major developer of games were to take these ideas on board they could use there vast amounts of resources to get the job done properly and maybe then people can enjoy the game more. But enough talking shit, i love the game, you guys hate it, Its a matter of personal preference.

If you do decide to play dont buy a fresh account, its alot like Eve where if you plan on PVPing at all and want to be competative you need a developed character, or the ability to macro and grind skills 24hrs a day. I'm not saying its a bad game by any means, i have been playing since launch, but unless you can give it 100% its not worth trying to get into casually.

I played Warhammer online , i have change for darkfall and i like it , i think for appreciate this game it's necessary to guild .

Sucks...

I kinda want to try Darkfall...not sure yet though.

Darkfall is an amazing game and it is how MMO's should be it actually requires work to get good at it unlike the other easy mode games out there.
