Hi, I'm kind of new to this game, and generally to the whole MMO scene, I just have a quick question: What's up with designated a particular server or even a guild as roleplaying? What does that mean for the other servers, that there is no roleplaying allowed there, or what?

Not really, no. It's just that there are servers on which people take RPing more seriously than others. And yes, there are some on which roleplaying is barely tolerated, if at all.
For DDO, the most RP-heavy servers used to be Sarlona and Thelanis, don't know if that's been changed recently
