Is this some kind of new combat system that I am playing right now in dungeons and dragons online, or is this something that was here for ages and I was just not smart enough to notice it? D&D Online Combat system question is one kind of question that I haven’t had a chance to notice and I hope I am not mistaken much by asking it here.

There is no mistake in trying to find out what you are looking for about this game or about any other game that is. I think that you just didn’t pay too much attention to combat system in this game and in some other games, because this is not something that is seen here for the first time. This was here for long time, but it is also a new combat system that is as close to reality as it will get in the next couple of years. So you better get use to it because you will be seeing it a lot more in other games that are still stuck with the old combat system.

D&DO's combat system is one of the funniest out there. When you try it, it's hard to go back to "traditionnal" combat systems.
The combats are fun, speed with extra moves like blockades, etc.

DDO developers are always trying to tweek the AI of the mobs. Several months ago they added where mobs do a moral check and run away if they are taking too much damage. Its realistic but a real paid since now you have to catch them to take another swing and they tend to run straight toward other mods and get them involved in the fight.
