Was wondering if anyone knew anything about DVD players?

My problem is that when I insert a DVD and start the playback the coloring will be f****d up, it will continuously go really bright, and then really dark through the the whole movie.

I have every plug hooked up right. The DVD player is hooked to my VCR, which is hooked to the TV, I have no RCA plugs on my TV. I've tried hooking my DVD player to other TV's and it still does the same thing, I even bought a new DVD player and the problem consists. I know it isn't the DVD's because i've brought them over to friend and family's and they work perfect. Any ideas?

that is the protection some DVD/VCRs have to stop you from recording the dvd. You'll have to go to BB or somewhere and get the right connector or an A/V receiver with video switcher that'll work with your tv

It could be the Macrovision encoding (a system to prevent pre-recorded VHS tapes and DVDs from being copied using VHS recorders), the symptons are right but I didn't know Macrovision was supposed to affect pass through connections. Maybe you've just gor a cheap as f**k shit VHS.

I get that problem when I try playing DVD's in the car on my PS2...could be a problem with power supply
