DOTA successors who wins? HON or LOL?

DOTA was the Warcraft 3 mod that was greatly enjoyed by thousands of players where you take control of one hero and play alongside teammates and foes.

Heroes of newerth and League of legends hope to start a new genre of gaming by creating a full game not a mod based on this same system. So, which one is worth your time?

I am in both betas and to me League of legends is a much more polished and fun game.

The graphics are nice in each game, LOL has a more cartoony look, but overall they are about equal.

As far as polish on the minimap, store, camera, different heroes and actual gameplay, League of legends is ahead of HON and for that it is the game I will choose.

S2games is the developer behind Heroes of newerth and they are the guys behind Savage 1 and 2, both failure games that were forced to go free to play de to poor sales.

Riot games is behind League of legends and was formed from some of the developers and fans of the Warcraft 3 mod, DOTA which was a great success.

I just pre-ordered League of Legends, it is free to play, but if you pre-order the collector's edition, you get 20 champions unlocked from LVL 1, special skins for your champions and $10 credit in the cash shop which lets you buy more skins and maybe new champions.

This game rocks!!

I highly recommend it to anybody that like RTS, PVP, type games.

Dota is fun because Not only does it normally last like 45 minutes Your able to Start off new each time.

Is LoL A remake of Dota trying to profit?

Im currently playing HoN. Its quite fun to play. I'm playing it with 4 other friends at the moment. But meh, Its fun, but I dont think i'll pay 30 euro's for this. Its fun for a while

HoN, imo, it doesn't look as childish as LoL.

I'd have to go with HoN. Good structure and fun to play with friends. Probably won't buy it but it's fun in beta.

I played a couple of hundred DoTA games and I never fell straight away tbh, just played with friends etc. In HoN though, the engine is much better (better graphics, smoother, the netcode is awesomeness).

I have around 600-700 HoN games now, I'm even playing solo on public games I love it, when you're sick of the MMO grind, or when your FPS clan is offline, this is the best "timekiller"-game, I enjoy it a lot.

I've never played LoL though, I heard it was not like DoTA or HoN (which are very similar to each other), and the advantage experienced people have over the new ones, is "meh". I will most likely stick to HoN, and after watching movies of LoL I would rather play DoTA over that.
I am a competetive player, and LoL feels too childish for competitions.

Im in the LoL beta as well, and I can't stand it. They tried to cram to much stuff into a simple concept. Plus the face that even if you lose all your games you can still level, so there still is no true way to tell the skill level of your opponent. I have not been able to try HoN, but it looks alot better.

LoL is terrible and didnt Icefrog join up with steam? So maybe expect something coming out with them, because he much more resources to work his magic.
