But for once i agree with JC. One hard game that makes you think, "Holy shit, it's my fault I died," rather than whining and screaming at a poor interface or bulky, sluggish controls.

Got it yesterday, on Mission 4 Normal. Seriously considering going to Easy mode. Sad

Remember when you save that youre game progress will always begin at the beginning of the level you saved on but your CHARACTER progress saves with whatever bloodpoints / items /skills youve accrued so you can keep tackling a level and increasing the power base of dante so the next time you have to fight cerebus, youre a bit more rugged this go around.

I've just been going through on Easy and slowly catching back up on Normal, usually keeping a good threshhold between the two, though.

Trickster Lv. 3 owns so hard.

I can get it to level 2 Gunslinger in about an half to a full hour. Is there a big difference between 1 and 2?

So far I've got Trickster Lv. 3 and Swordmaster Lv. 2.

So far I like Gunslinger for the shotgun move. It randomly clears out creeps better than most other moves; granted, this is because I suck ass while using Nevan.

And about Nevan... I can't even tell if it's decent or if I'm just not good with inputting the right commands at the right times--

thusly, I like this game. I can always tell if it's me that sucks up a level, not the game being unjust. The only "but" is wondering if Nevan is a weapon worth using or just a little frill in DMC3. The fact of what it is makes it lame (to me), but technically it might wind up being bad ass.

Mugaaz, game master, do give an opinion!

I think Nevan sucks man, it's just not something I like.

I use E&I + Artemis , then switch between Rebellion and A&R to keep a combo going.

Gunslinger becomes worthwhile when you get Artemis. The Aerial move is pretty worthless, even for style, unless you PERFECTLY get on top of them. The skateboard move is stupid and too hard to bother with too.

It's all about the speed of shooting with E&I for keeping normal mobs at bay, plus getting good using the O shot to keep multiple enemies away.
I use them mostly for defense like this. When you are getting hounded and need to kill a specific enemy (like those column guys) charge shot mows them down, it even hurts bosses substantially.

The shotgun is worthless. It is only really useful for the secret mission on the elevator.

Artemis is great You need to charge it to get use out of it with multilock. Then you shoot the enemy, run up while the orbs circle in and use the Sphere blast as it comes in, then switch it into acid rain. As the rain comes down you can easily switch to rebellion, do a combo, then knock them up and switch to E&I while it's in midair and juggle it till it dies. If it' has a lot of hp wait for the last second before it's about to hit the ground then just go into a sword combo with A&R.

Yeah. I had this desire to use Nevan, even though the idea is horrid and impractical. Atleast I have confirmation it sucks.

My favorite style is Trickster, though.

Agni and Rudra/Rebellion with Ebony and Ivory/Shotgun does it for me in trickster. You can dash to cancel the Million Stab (Rebellion) and the longish slice-time move, the one that hits ~180 degrees (or so, probably less) with Agni Rudra, which, seriously, is what makes me love the damn style so much. That on top of the fact that at Lv. 3 you can close in on any enemy with complete efficiency.

Have you guys been using Spiral at all? The reload time doesn't seem worth the damage output to me. I rarely switch from Ebony and Ivory.

Nevan seems like it would be worthwhile when it's fully upgraded, but I'm not sure I want to use it over A&R. I guess it all depends on situation.

Spiral is pretty good dude, but it is situational. Those confined rooms. Lol it's like a shotgun that hits every mob.
