I am, mordred. And Lancelot/hib if I get people to play with me or somehow get money there. I also play my 50 scout/buffbot on Guin sometimes, I would play him alot if I was in a good guild though.

Spink plays.

What's DAoC like these days? What's the action consist of?

Back when I quit, the main thing was three-way fights by somebody's mile gate, and the occasional castle raid, but siege engines were useless and the walls and doors could be exploited pretty easily.

What do you do in the game these days?

RvR still heavly consists on multiple hour standoffs at the mile gates. RvR sucks intill the RvR expansion comes out which will make it extremly cooler (I hope).

With ToA, there is less people PvPing and RvRing both, due to people leveling up their artifacts to make them uberer. PvP right now, is the way to go no matter what. Although alot of people dont like dying alot, you get used to it fast, and overcome the newbs that grey gank constantly becasue it up's their self esteem by .01.

Keep raids are more frequent due to the demand for Darkness Falls, if you quit before then. This is on RvR servers, btw.. becasue PvP everyone has access to it, at all times. Although on PvP, Legends reign's supreem over everyone else, in which they have all Relics, but keeps still are held one per guild, becasue I belive that is the max one guild can have. So keep raids are frequent on Mordred (PvP).

Not exactly sure WHEN you quit, like before SI, or after, or when or what not... so I can't give you much more info than that without looking like a d*****t and telling you shit you already know.

Very Happy

I quit just before they added the shared dungeon - was that Darkness Falls maybe? I went into it once just for fun a few weeks later, we whacked some elves or something, but I didn't start up again.

Its a huge demonic dungeon that is connected at the bottom. There are boss mobs which drop items which used to be some what decent, but now are just for salvaging or the 100qua items for alts, or if it fits in with Spellcrafting. Deamon seals drop here, which can be used to buy items from merchants at the top of DF. Most people just salvage the seals becasue if you can salvage/tinker and resell to merchants, you can make a shitload of money. The armor is decent for twinks, but nothing else. Some of the jewelry is actually pretty good, and works well with spellcraft suits.

I can't remember when spellcrafting came out, but incase it came out after you quit, you can add stats to player crafted gear.

Alchemy also is out, which you can make potions, dyes and procs/ablitaves for your gear.

You can swim underwater now with ToA.

There are many many dungeons which are raided alot.

6 new classes, Reaver, Necromancer, Valewalker, Animist, Bonedancer, Savage. (Not sure if you quit before SI)

Some pointless thing I found really awesome with ToA. There are tresure chests which appear randomly, and you can open them and you have a chance of getting something REALLY good, like an artifact or scroll, a unique item, a sellable item, or mobs can popout. Its pretty fun running around and opening them and getting good shit, or having to fight mobs that pop out, which also have a chance of droping shit.

Without powerlevelling, you can solo to 50 in a couple months on about 20hrs a week. If that's any consolation. :p

It is pretty interesting though. Each artifact has different types of things to kill to get exp for it. Like a bracer I have, you have to kill enemies of an enemy realm during the day, to get exp for it. This includes pvp and classes/races from an oppsite realm. Which is awesome. A staff I am getting levels off of humanoids, and this includes players... so I can pvp and level at the same time.

Like 25% of the artifacts are obtainable at like 35+ so you can level normally, while getting exp for your artifact, and this doesnt take away from your leveling exp.

It depends on your class. Also I gotta say GC is taking a pretty biased view.

If you play a class that solos a lot and don't wanna get artifacts or master levels then don't bother (btw, People on euro servers got Master Level 10 within four days of Trials of Atlantis being released there)

If you want to play a class that groups virtually all the time then it's not AS important because if 7/8 people in your group have shit then you're one equal footing vs a group where 8/8 people have stuff but if you go 8v8 with 1-2/8 people having artifacts/ML vs a group with 6-8/8 you're probably gonna get owned if you don't have overpowered classes/30 minute Realm abilities.

Most artifacts are fairly easy to level on certain classes or grouped with certain classes. Like in midgard a savage duoing with a shaman can tear up xp in most places. Same with albion: a necromancer + cleric or a hibernian PBAE group. Infact all the realms can get badass xp with pbae but hibernia is better at it.

Only artifacts that are really hard to level are ones that level in obscure places that no one wants to go like braggart's bow is a f*g to level since it only levels off fire snakes.

Ofcourse I play an Infiltrator which solos a lot and I have absolutely zero ToA items or bonuses but still own... well own for 56k.

Also you can probably pick up an un-toa'd account from ebay or wherever people sell accounts now for pretty cheap purely cause ToA'd ones are going for a reasonable amount.

I am being biased about what?

But Spink has the correct point of view on ToA, though.

The world's changed while you've been on mordred, you're still thinking of the other servers like they were pre-toa.

Yeah I haven't given RvR servers a chance sence ToA came out. I wanna start on guin, but you are unguilded and dont seem ineterested, and I belive you are in WoW beta and to occupied (I would be too).

I wanna start on Lancelot as well, but I have no money there. I have 2 accounts so I would pwn with a buffbot, which is why I wanna level to 50 there before Frontiers, or at least in hib on a server I know someone on.
