Since I really don't have the time to build myself a new PC, I am looking for a reliable company to go through to have one built. Does anyone have any experience with any companies?

I have looked through Dell and Alienware, but was curious if there are any better or equal ones out there, that you are not going to be just paying for a name.

Any help would be great!

Thank you in advance.

What do you mean you don't have time?

Where's the time consumption?

Buying a prebuilt one takes just as long if not longer.

Well, I am employed by the federal government and work some pretty s****y hours atm. Full time student. Then I will be going in for surgery to fixed a problem in my heart.... Your basic RL shit.

And I mean TIME as in the time to put one together. That and I would probably be Dunn's next "Tech idiot of the day!" Smile

Tiger Direct has great stuff.
And Cyber Power makes good desktops for cheap. I really like the case I got from them.

Last week I built myself a second comp...ordered stuff from Directron on Monday, got it on on Tuesday, assembled it in about 30 mins, had OS installed 30 mins after that.

Whereas Dell or someplace you'd be waiting 2 weeks atleast,

Ownz --> http://www.newegg.com/

Grab your MB/CPU/Memory @ Newegg. When building a system those are the 3 biggest parts where things go wrong, and newegg is great with customer service/RMA.

For the rest of the piddly crap, go deal searching.

http://dealnews.com/ && http://www.fatwallet.com/ are pretty good.

Check out this deal below, Same exact HD i got when I built my new computer recently. 120gig 8mb cache, $60 shipped.. damn good deal, think I might pick up another before it ends, I download too much shit, mine is almost full Wink

Newegg.com does own. I have ordered many a part through them. They have some of the best prices I have found and their customer service just kicks ass. I highly recommend them.

ailenware is the biggest ripoff you will probably spend.

Dell is good if you want reliability and good CSR.

personally, id buy the parts and build it yourself. You save a hell alot of money if you got an hour or 2 to spare on the weekend.

How much are you looking to spend?

Because if you have cash, go Pentium right now. AMD is lagging so far behind since they're trying to get the Athlon 64 out the door, plus if you buy an AMD right now you're f****d for future upgrades. The P4 C series f*****g owns (I have a 2.Cool because of the 800mHz FSB. Basically, you can overclock the shit out of them, and the really cool thing is no motherboard even supports speeds that fast (that's how far ahead they are)

Also, if you have a lot of cash, go for an Abit IC7. I have the IC7-G, and it's f*****g amazing.

Be careful of buying parts online. I had a situation with compatibility problems between VIA kt400 chipsets (Gigabyte) + Geforce 4 ti4200 (Chaintech) and they would not take either item back, only replace them if defective (which i claimed, but the new one sent had the same problem and it's like 10 bucks shipping for each return).

as for WHICH parts to get, i follow this guide:

http://www.sharkyextreme.com/guides/MHGSBG/article.php/2240721

would NOT suggest getting a optical wireless mouse if you are a gamer.

otherwise all great stuff

and www.pricewatch.com has the lowest prices

prepare to be bitchslapped redneck

1. the optical point, because of the batteries, is off center, located between your thumb and index finger. those who are use to the ball being in the center - everybody - will find this very uncomfortable to adjust to especially for FPS games.

2. the batteries make the unit very heavy, and after prolonged use, it causes a lot of wear on your wrist, leading to carpal tunnel

so even for all its uses, I suggest going with a wired mouse.

DC doesn't require pinpoint accuracy so you can get away with half assed aiming. but try playing AAO with that shit.
