When i hit play now on teh server select menu it right away gives me an illegal op. and crashs me to desktop any ideas ?

From the way I am reading it he never makes it to the character select screen because it is crashing at server select screen. /shrug I dont know what to do to fix the problem other than try uninstalling and reinstalling EQ from the CD's. However, that might be a bit extreme, so you might want to e-mail sony tech support and see if they have an easier solution.

sounds more like the 3D drivers are fuckerd, try uninstall your video card then , install DX8.1 , then new video drivers .

most likely it's the UI if it just started happening.. specifically after a patch day.
