This just further reinforces in my mind how mind-blowing final fantasy used to be, and how much regular blowing it does these days. Just because you hire a bunch of guys to do awesome 3D models doesn't mean you have to fire the guys in charge of the storyline. I'm usually not one to stand in the way of commercial success, which they have far more of now than they did during the FF 2 and 3 days, but anyone can see that those games (along with Tactics) are FAR superior in terms of storyline and character development than anything they've come out with since.

its sad that even though it was about consols, I can remember almost everything that happens to every FF6 character in that ending sequence and it was so many years ago.

That's called great storyline. The two they released to the SNES also had a GREAT mix of fantasy and technology. Somewhere along the line, however, they decided that to be massively popular, they really needed to tone down the magic, robes, and wands. They tried to come back with pure fantasy in 9, but I always crack up, because they tried to soften the blow by making it more of a comedy than anything. I mean, the f*****g lead character has a TAIL, and the black mage char (can't even remember his name) is a bumbling idiot, not a powerful mage.
As much as I hate Microsoft, I may buy the XBox Next just to get the games that the Father of FF is making at Mistwalker. Not only is he involved, but I think the guy in charge of designing those games is the guy who did Legend of Mana and I think FF: Tactics. Could be AMAZING games.

The only FF they were smart to not release to the US was 2. 3 and 5 should have been brought over here :/

And the only reason every copy of FF Origins shouldn't be incenerated is because FF1 is on it.
