Hey I need to upgrade my machine and was wondering what some good hardware is for an intel based system.
Basically just need mobo ideas. Already have a geforce 6800 ultra and 3gb of ddr2, and all the other odds and ends, but I'm mainly stuck on the motherboard choice.
Thanks.

Well if I were you I would sell that P4 and get AMD...I switched from the same chip about 6 months ago and wondered why I didnt do it sooner...that being said, if you want to stay on Intel platform, I would go with an ASUS P4P800 series mobo. I think there are 3 or 4 in that series depending on what you need for your setup. Expect to pay 120-180 for it. Also dont forget cooling. The chip you have is a Prescott and they run VERY hot. Invest 20-40 bucks in a heatsink/fan combo that will keep temps below 60 degrees Celcius.
