Probably the funniest person in history is a man called Chris Morris. He is part situationist, part satirist, all lunatic, complete "I don't give a f**k" programme maker/actor who has made some of the funniest programs you've never seen.
Two series he featured in are The Day Today (a satire of network newscasting which has to be seen to be believed - and introduced a certain character called Alan Partridge) and Brass Eye. He was part of a team who made Day Today but pretty much the sole creative vision behind Brass Eye.
Brass Eye is probably one of the most entertaining spoofs ever made, six glorious episodes where celebrities are duped into making national appeals for causes such as an Elephant with its head stuck up its arse (watch those dumb f***s dead pan the appeals) and a campaign against Cake a fictional narcotic which is (according to the celebrities) a "made up drug".
The best thing about Chris Morris' humour is that it works whether or not you get the biting satire of the current state of Western society. I doubt either have ever been shown outside the UK but both deserve to be viewed by everyone, it will make you laugh and might even make you think.
Both can be downloaded online, (he encourages this AFAICT).
