Why not? A Ranger/Warrior is generally considered one of the more efficient combos, as far as core profs go. The Tactics skill adds up nicely with the ranger skills. Also, I'd focus on the sword and bow combo, at least until you figure out which style suits you the better (and only then push that one).

Hello, I'm in need of some advice regarding my current Guild Wars character (my first!), specifically, the selection of his secondary class. The primary is almost certainly going to be a ranger, but I'm really not sure about the secondary. Which class would you guys suggest? I was thinking warrior but I'm not sure if that'd be effective.
